This Privacy Policy explains what information Always Toward collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. It applies to the Always Toward app and related services.
Who We Are

Information You Provide
Account Information
Your email address and password, used to create and secure your account; your display name; and an optional profile photo that you choose from your photo library.
Onboarding Answers and Preferences
The purposes, current season of life, focus and daily rhythm you choose when you join, including any free-text answer you write; your notification and reminder preferences; and your theme.
Journal Entries
The title, text, mood and date of each entry, and any religious or inspirational content you attach.
Daily Moods
The mood check-ins you record, with their dates.
Prayers
The prayers you write, and which prayers you mark as favorites.
Saved Content
The religious passages, reflections or other content you save, including associated highlights, notes and dates, where applicable.
Support Messages
When you contact us through Help & Support, the type of request (contact support, report a problem or feedback) and the message you write.
Information Created When You Use Always Toward
AI-Generated Content (Premium)
Religious passage recommendations and explanations, reflection questions, prayers generated from your journal entries, responses and reflections for your prayers, and daily inspirational content. This content is stored with your account.
Subscription Information
When subscriptions are enabled, your subscription status, product information, customer and subscription identifiers, expiration date and Premium entitlement.
Support Message Details
The app version and platform (iOS, Android or web) are saved with each support message, together with the account that sent it.
How We Use Information
We use your information to provide and maintain Always Toward’s features, including your journal, prayers, saved content, reminders and profile; to provide Premium AI features; to manage your account and subscription; to respond to support requests; to keep the service secure and prevent misuse; and to comply with legal obligations.
Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device, using the preferences you choose.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
AI Features and OpenAI
Always Toward’s Premium AI features use OpenAI. Requests are sent from our server-side functions, not directly from your device, and only when you use a Premium AI feature.
Depending on the feature, the following may be sent to OpenAI:
Your journal text and mood, for religious passage recommendations.
Your journal text and mood, with the selected passage and its explanation, for reflection questions and prayers.
Your journal text and mood when you update a response.
Up to three recent journal entries and their associated content, for daily inspirational content.
The text of a prayer you write, with the selected religious passage, for prayer-related recommendations and reflections.
Religious text or passage content for explanatory features. No personal content is sent for these features where applicable.
We do not include your name, email address, account ID or journal titles in these requests.
Our requests to OpenAI are configured with OpenAI’s “store: false” setting. OpenAI’s handling of the data it receives is also subject to OpenAI’s own terms and policies.
Service Providers and Third Parties
Supabase
Authentication, database storage, file storage (including profile photos) and server-side functions. Our Supabase project is hosted in the United States.
OpenAI
Premium AI features, as described above.
RevenueCat
Subscription management, once subscriptions and store products are active. Your Always Toward account ID is used as your RevenueCat customer ID, and RevenueCat provides your subscription, product and entitlement information. We do not send your name, email address or phone number to RevenueCat.
Apple App Store and Google Play
In-app purchases and subscriptions. Payment and card information is handled by Apple or Google. Always Toward does not receive or store your card details.
Speech Recognition
When you use dictation, your speech is handled by your device’s operating-system speech recognition, which may involve Apple’s or Google’s speech services depending on your device and platform. Always Toward does not intentionally save or upload the raw audio. The transcription becomes text in the journal or prayer field and is saved only if you save the entry or prayer.
Google Fonts
Some fonts may be downloaded from Google’s servers, which receive standard request information such as your IP address.
Image Hosting
Some decorative images in the app may be loaded from a third-party image server, which receives standard request information such as your IP address.
Each of these services handles data under its own terms and privacy policies.
What We Do Not Collect
Always Toward does not request or collect your location, and it does not access your contacts.
The app does not include advertising, advertising identifiers, or third-party analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools.
Your Choices and Controls
Edit your name and profile photo in Edit Profile, and change your email address or password from Account.
Change reminder and notification preferences in Notifications. You can also turn off notifications in your device settings.
Delete individual journal entries and prayers, and remove saved content and highlights.
Export My Data (Settings → Manage Your Data) creates a JSON file containing the account and content information supported by the export feature, such as your account email, profile, preferences, journal entries, daily moods, prayers, saved content, daily inspirational content and subscription status. The export may not include your profile photo, support messages or every type of AI-generated content.

Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account from Settings, Account, Privacy & Data or Manage Your Data, where those options are available.
After you confirm, your account and the personal data associated with it are deleted from Always Toward’s active database, your profile photo files are removed, and you are signed out.
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Deletion removes information from our active systems. Copies may remain for a period of time in backups and logs, and some records may be kept where required by law or where technically necessary, subject to applicable retention requirements.
Information held by third-party services, such as Apple, Google or RevenueCat, is subject to their own policies.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep your information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and as otherwise permitted by law.
When you delete content or your account, it is removed from our active systems as described above, while backups, logs or legally required records may persist for a period of time.
Security
We use encrypted connections and access controls intended to limit each account’s data to that account.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Age Requirement
Always Toward is intended for users 18 and older.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If you believe someone under 18 has provided us personal information, contact privacy@alwaystowardapp.com.
Where Information Is Processed
Always Toward is operated from the United States.
Your information is stored and processed in the United States and by the service providers listed above.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
We will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
